I love how all of these children were sharing in Kate’s joy as she received some fun birthday presents. Happy 3rd birthday Kate.
Love Ice Cream!

I know, be mad. I haven’t blogged in FOREVER! So bad of me! I just have not had the extra time. I haven’t taken a photo of Daniel with my ‘real’ camera in like… weeks!!!!!
These are just some things he has been up to lately. I have a lot of stuff to catch you all up on, but know all is well.
Daniel is 18 months old, and it deserves a post of its own. It will be posted soon.
Daniel: “Hey dad, what are you doing down there??
“Seriously, for real, what are you doing to my bed?”
“Oh, I’m a big boy now? I am going to a big boy bed? That makes me really happy”
Yes, it’s true. This is WAAAYYYYY sooner than I EVER imagined we would transition Daniel to a big boy bed, but he fell completely out of his crib yesterday, doing a complete flip, landing on his back after his nap yesterday. I couldn’t believe it, and I was really afraid of what I was going to find as I was rushing to him seconds after the “thump!” Not a bruise, scratch, or bump, but it was enough to scare us.
The crib mattress does lower further than it was, but we were already prepared to try this out, so we will see how it goes. It might be too soon, and if so, we will just attach the front of the crib back.
I can’t believe my baby is out of his crib. Well, technically he is still in it, but you know, he can escape!
So far he has been in there 15 minutes and we haven’t heard any commotion or crying. We think it will take him a couple of days to figure it out. Maybe he will walk to my bed and get me up for church in the morning!
We spent our July 4 the way we always do! We went to my hometown (Buchanan) for the parade, carnival, best-french-fries-around, ice cream, and fireworks. It’s our yearly tradition, and we LOVE it.
this was taken through a wet windshield.
the rain quickly passed, and we had a beautiful evening.
I have no idea what really passed through in the parade because I was too busy taking photos of Daniel’s expressions as he seen each new float.
THIS expression came just as he was seeing his FAVORITE type of “vehicle” was nearing..
a GIANT green tractor. In case you didn’t know, Daniel LOVES green tractors!
Daniel bumped into his ‘Mammy’ there, and we stopped for a quick photo.
and then I squeezed my large rear end in these kiddie toys so that Daniel could ride a few rides.
‘Pawdaddy’ had his turn. Daniel was a little…. scared……. at first. but, he got over it.
and mawmaw had her turn.
We enjoyed our July 4th! We hope that you did, too.
We had a splendid time in Florida with Dennis’ parents. I didn’t take a ton of photos, but, what I did take pretty much sums up our time together. Hurricane Debby tried to rain on our vacation but the sunny state wouldn’t let it last too long.
Judy cooked for us 3-4 of Dennis’ favorite dishes that she makes.
Richie taught Daniel how to “Shhhh” with his mouth.
Daniel enjoyed the sunshine. And all of the golf cart riding. He didn’t really enjoy the pool, though. We have high hopes for NEXT summer for pool playin!
I love the gorgeous summer sun.
love that sweet little smile!
Dennis and I enjoyed our week! We had a really hot date on the Wednesday night that we were there. We enjoyed the time to reconnect.
