Anybody Miss Application Mondays??? I do!

I was in a pretty good routine of getting some great application on here on Mondays, but somehow got out of the habit. Well, even though it is Tuesday, we could get back on track today!!! Let's call it Teachable Tuesdays!!! :)

Today is a marital piece. Dennis and I are supposed to be reading "When Sinners Say I do"

Well, as I was skimming this morning figuring out where Dennis has left off, I started to read.I gotta be honest, I have not been reading like I should have... I am looking forward to a break from school so that I can spend some time in God's word and allow myself to fall back in love with him again. Time has been an issue lately. I am even considering giving the blog up for a week so that I can reevaluate the way that I spend my time. Pray for me on this.

So ONE powerful application thought on this Tuesday:

If we love our husband/wife....Why do we find it so easy to treat him/her like we don't?

I am going to be in prayer about this matter today. I encourage you to evaluate your heart on this matter as well.

Application Monday #4

The Heart of Man plans his way,

but the Lord establishes his steps

Proverbs 16:9

I have really thougth this last week on what this means in my life. And how this fits for plans that I want to make for my life, and how I know I am in God's perfect will as I have brought this up the past two Application Mondays! I done a little research this morning, and this is what John MacArthur had to say:

Man is here represented to us, 1. As a reasonable creature, that has the faculty of contriving for himself: His heart devises his way, designs an end, and projects ways and means leading to that end, which the inferior creatures, who are governed by sense and natural instinct, cannot do. The more shame for him if he do not devise the way how to please God and provide for his everlasting state. 2. But as a depending creature, that is subject to the direction and dominion of his Maker. If men devise their way, so as to make God’s glory their end and his will their rule, they may expect that he will direct their steps by his Spirit and grace, so that they shall not miss their way nor come short of their end. But let men devise their worldly affairs ever so politely, and with ever so great a probability of success, yet God has the ordering of the event, and sometimes directs their steps to that which they least intended. The design of this is to teach us to say, If the Lord will, we shall live and do this or that (Jam. 4:14, 15), and to have our eye to God, not only in the great turns of our lives, but in every step we take. Lord, direct my way, 1 Th. 3:11.

d I are restructuring our prayer life and attitudes! We spent some great company with some friends this last weekend and without knowing it they have spurred us on in righteousness! Please keep us in prayer that our prayers would be effective for the kingdom and not absorbed in our own requests and needs! We love you guys that read. We hope that you continue!

Application Monday #3

Let's Ponder this this week:

The heart of man plans his way,

but the LORD establishes his steps.

-Proverbs 16:9

I may comment later on how this applies to my life, but for now let's contemplate what this means for each one of us!

Can You Get out of God's Will??

Application "Monday" on TUESDAY TODAY!

This is some discussion that we had as a group last night.

My question was: "How do I know that I am in God's will? How do I know that I am doing what God wants me to do. Should I teach? How do I know that I should???

Eddie says: 'Is God's will a dot or a football field?"

I said: "I wish that it were a dot..."

My brothers and sisters in Christ gave me excellent advice about how I know if what I am doing is right. How does one battle the desires of the flesh, and how does one know that desire of God for our lives? How do we know... by prayer and reading!!!

This drawing demonstrates that God has an end. And We are awimming in the River, no matter how much we may bump the river bank, we cannot get out God's perfect will, he does not allow that. Eddie used the description as blasphemy being something that would be not allowed for us to do because it is the unpardonable sin.

So... I guess that throughout life whether we are teachers, students, waitresses, CEO's or whatever, we can serve God and his purposes, and we can be examples and Godly in our jobs. We rest assure that God will keep us in the river current.

So, last night I learned:

We should:

• Never limit What God can do
• Seek his will through fasting and prayer
• Stay in his word for direction
• Accept correction
• Rest assured that God is in control
• Never put God in a box
• We should never worry about tomorrow

Jeremiah 29:11-14 says:

For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for wholeness, and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come to pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and fine me. When you seek me with all of your heart.

Something also to consider:

When a person is saved, sanctified, submissive, Suffering, and thankful, he is already in God's will. David tells us when we are what God wants us to be, He is in control, and our will is merged with His will, and He therefore gives us the desires He has planted in our hearts. Jesus is our supreme example. He always functioned by the divine principles established by the Father.

Psalm 37:4

Hmm..... something to think about huh??

Application Monday #1

Alright folks, this is the very first application Monday. I am going to flip through my notebook and offer some application points from the past few weeks. Sometimes I may just share what the Lord is teaching me that particular week. You will read the application points, and then YOU will leave a comment, and you will give me some feedback on some application going on in your life, important things to remember, to contemplate, whatever. Or you may want to comment on the importance of these points. Remember, it does NOT have to be 5 or 6.. it can be just one! I will post them, and then present them maybe Wednesday or so.... This will be good for everyone's spiritual walk. So, here we go!!!

• If Jesus Christ is God, then HE ALONE is worthy of my worship as the only way of salvation.
  
• His call to Holiness is a call to persue his perfection and purity of His grace.


• Calling Christians to Live like Christians is NOT legalism.. but absolute freedom!


• Don't be a hypocrite in your love! Let it be genuine.


• Act in Love.. Look for ways to be a servant
• Invest in the Life of God's people!
