Letters to our First Born…..

When Dennis and I first found out that we were expecting our first baby, I immediately went to Barnes & Noble to buy a journal for him/her. This journal is intended to last a lifetime. Believe me, I do not intend to write in this thing every day, or every week, or even every month, but it is there to record my thoughts/feelings/prayers for our little one as he/she grows up. I plan to give this gift to our child when it's the right time. It could be when they graduate, or get married, or maybe even when he/she is expecting their first child, but it's meant to be a recording of our time together as mommy and son/daughter.

I even taped the reciept in there so that they can see when and how much it was when I purchased it. I think an old receipt will be kind of cool in 20 years. :)

I am a pretty sentimental kind of person. I am so thankful for this gift that God has given. I am nervous about this huge task of raising another life, but I know that God will teach me to be a Godly mother as I grow in Him.

………. and on a much lighter note, my mom blessed us with some pretty cute clothes for both sexes. Obviously, we won't get to use one of these sets of clothes, but I am so excited that our little baby boy/girl will be in one of these sets. :) Since I have never shopped for baby clothes that were intended to go on MY CHILD, it was so so so fun. Thanks for participating in this sweet time in our lives.

Baby at 10 weeks and 5 days

 

So we had another appointment today! :)

We were supposed to go and just hear the heartbeat. Dr. Kelly couldn't hear it, so we had me go in for another sonogram.

We went in and saw the baby immediately with a strong heartbeat of 164 beats per minute.

The tech even showed us the bottoms of our baby's feet. It was special. The baby even JUMPED. It was so neat!!!! We are so happy.

So, everything is looking good. We go back in four weeks for our 14 week appointment!!! :)

We are so so so so so excited. Thanks for being on this journey with us. We love you!

Longing………..

 

………for the beach………..

it's that time of the year when I get really anxious to be near the water, the gritty sand, the hot pavement under my feet, the beach shops, the seafood restaurants, and the warmth left on my skin at the end of a beach day. It's when I long for the breeze in my hair, the romance in the air, his hand in mine, the night music you can hear from blocks away, and fireworks. I am really longing for it…….

Happy Birthday Ty!

 About a month ago, I had the opportunity to take pictures of Tyson's fifth birthday party! His party was a pirate themed birthday, with swimming, too. Just wanted to share the photos that I took.

I know, it has been like two weeks since I have blogged. It is pretty pitiful. I have a lot to talk about. First off though, I cannot ignore this picture. As you can see, this is our baby at the time measuring 6weeks6days. At this point, I am 9weeks 3days. So, since then, we have a much larger baby (1.5 inches) and with all its important features, (we hope).

I did end up getting "morning sickness" but more like, late evening sickness. But I am starting to ease up on it already. It has been a pretty enjoyable pregnancy. Our next appointment is June 25 at 2:00 p.m. to listen to the heartbeat. Since it is still the sensitive first trimester, I am still a little anxious, but I am confident that everything is going well in there. :)

Photography

Photography, photography, photography….

it is pretty much a thing of the past I think. I have lost my desire to take photos.. for extra money……. it is just not something I love anymore. So, the photography business is, well, closed down. lol. :) for now. Maybe once the baby gets here, or maybe once the second trimester gets here, and I have energy to stand up, I might revisit it. For now, though, the decision feels good.

Addition- -

As you all know, I hope, we are adding on a new bedroom, bathroom, closet, and living room to our house. It has been a long, grueling process, one I hope to have OVER in a few weeks. probably a month. We will be REALLY READY for the extra space when it's finished.
