Enjoy a few of my favorites of this beautiful family! What a fun Friday night. Enjoy!!
Hello friends of Mommy & Daddy,
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Daniel Patrick Maggi. Mom and Dad named me after Daniel from the Bible. It means "God is my judge" I am scheduled to meet all of you sometime mid January, probably around the 16th. Before I made my grand entrance, I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself.
This month which marks the beginning of my sixth month inside my mommy's warm, comfortable tummy….
I weight about 1.5 pounds, and are about 9 inches long. By this point, I already have recognizable features of my mom, or dad, or even both! I wonder who I look like?!?! I wished there was a mirror in here!
I have a skinny little face, and look forward to some padding under my skin.. a little fat is always good!
The good news is, I can now hear mom sing, and laugh, and talk to Daddy. I can even hear him talk back to her, and hear him sing through the house, too. I hope I get mom's voice!!! :)
I am a mover! I like to wait until mom is laying down or resting and I show off all my new moves. I like to poke, and prode, and roll. Sometimes I even get the hiccups. The other night, I was keeping mom awake, and Daddy said: "GO TO BED, DANIEL" I think it scared me a little, I will be sure to listen to him!!!!
Mom is eating good food for me, and she is drinking a lot of water. I try to help her make sure she is getting rid of all that liquid, it crowds my space. I am growing at a fast pace, but I always have plenty of room.
Well, thanks for checking in on me. I cannot wait to meet all of you.
Love,
Daniel Patrick Maggi
When Dennis and I left for Florida at the end of August, we packed up Allie and took him to my moms. When we returned, we didn't pick him up because by that time, he was just then getting accustomed to life in his new environment, so we just thought a couple more days would be good. Well, its almost the end of September, and he is still there. We pretty much know that he will never be coming home… :( because I am allergic to him, and I am afraid that the baby will come home and be allergic to him, causing a sicker than we need newborn, OR…. Allie would not be kind to our new son.
Since my PawPaw died earlier this month, my Nanny has recently given some thought to taking Allie. We really think that this would be the perfect place ultimately. Nanny needs a companion!! I LOVE my kitty so much, and I miss him all the time, the home is just not the same without some of the silly rituals our cat brought to our lives. But, there is a time and a season for everything, and we think that visiting Allie would ultimately be a better fit for us. We know that some of you house guests will feel a little bit of a relief too. :)
So, for now……….. we are just stuck with this guy…………………..
Today my husband celebrated his 32nd birthday.
So, to celebrate….
I picked him up at work and we had lunch at Chick-Fil-A.
He came home and worked around the house while I grocery shopped.
I came home, and I made him a neat little dinner- - and baked him a cake.
Oh, and I washed the sheets. :)
So, what more could a guy ask for?!?!?!?
For dinner, I made him a Petro.
A petro can be known as a walking taco, but I don't use taco seasoning so I choose to not call it that, and besides, I don't think it tastes like a taco.
What you do:
buy a couple small bags of fritos, or enough bags for each person you are serving.
Make some chili.
buy sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and shredded cheese.
stuff the bag:
fritos on bottom naturally.
then chili
then cheese
then lettuce
then tomatoes
then PLENTY of sour cream on top
some people do chopped onion. . . I don't.
wrap the bag with a napkin and stick a fork in it.
dinner is done.
:) Enjoy!!!
Hey There!
Paul, Dennis' brother, and a friend, Roy, put up our deck for us this last weekend. It looks super awesome, and we are so grateful for Paul's workmanship on projects like this. We have a nice size deck already decorated up, ready for some cooler, more enjoyable weather. . .
More progress has been made on the INSIDE of the house. Jerry and Ralph has placed our trim and crown molding, we have primed and now ready to paint, and Paul, with a friend of his, placed the tile in our bathroom for us.
I am SUPER terrible at seeing things BIG picture… so this whole project has been a little scary and intimidating. If this would have looked TERRIBLE, it would have been our fault because we made a lot of decisions that I and we are just not experienced to make. I have NO idea about paint colors, tile colors, trim, you name it, it's ALL foreign. So, with a LOT of help and input from more experienced people, we have come to love our new addition. We cannot wait till it is all done, and I can breathe again without anticipating. :) Enjoy the photos!
